NICKEL: LOCALIZING CUSTOMER EMAILS

Nickel is a French neobank belonging to BNP Paribas group. As part of their entry into the German market, I worked with the company for a year, translating numerous customer emails (amounting to around 35,000 words).

Interesting example

The project developments were the most interesting part of the Nickel project. At the start of the year, we lay down the groundwork for a successful localization: translating the glossary and revising the already-translated texts. Then the biggest part of the work began: translating hundreds of customer emails from French into German. In order to stay on schedule for the market launch, I was assigned translation packages of around 2,500 words every week, which I translated from Mondays to Thursdays – on Fridays, we had a meeting with those responsible at Nickel, where I could ask context questions. After the call, I worked the answers into my texts and delivered the translation. We worked like this for several months until the project was finally delivered, successfully and on time.
